Eastern Health has a variety of forms and handouts available in French. Please ask your health-care provider if the form or handout you need is available in French. You can also request health information in French from the francophone health system navigator at 709-699-2409 or navigation.franco@easternhealth.ca.
Hello! Bonjour!
The ‘Hello! Bonjour!’ stickers or pins easily identify employees who speak French. Physicians, health service providers and Eastern Health employees that display the Hello! Bonjour! logo to let patients and their families know that they can offer services in French. The ‘Hello! Bonjour!’ logo is also an invitation to request and use services in French for French-speaking Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.
Physicians, health services providers and employees who wish to participate in the Hello! Bonjour! campaign can contact the francophone health system navigator or the Bilingual Services Office nurse coordinator.

Health passport
The Health Passport (Passeport Santé) is a province-wide resource provided by Fédération des francophones de Terre-Neuve et du Labrador’s (FFTNL), which will facilitate communication between French-speaking patients and English-speaking health-care professionals. This edition offers two versions, French to English for the French patient and also English to French for the English-speaking health professional.

Government services and departments
Information about the government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s departments and services is currently available in French on the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s website. The Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Care Plan (MCP) is a comprehensive plan of medical care insurance designed to cover the cost of physician services for residents of the province.
Pharmaceutical Services Division
The Pharmaceutical Services Division is responsible for operating the Newfoundland and Labrador Prescription Drug Program (NLPDP) on behalf of the department of Health and Community Services.
The Dental Services Division is responsible for the administration of the Provincial Dental Health Plan and the Surgical Dental Program. The division directs and administers all matters relating to dentistry, in accordance with established departmental policies and programs.
This is a free and confidential telephone-based service, staffed by experienced registered nurses and registered dieticians. This service is available to all residents of Newfoundland and Labrador, of any age.

Fédération des parents francophones de Terre-Neuve et du Labrador – FPFTNL
The Fédération des parents francophones de Terre-Neuve et du Labrador supports its members, the parents’ committees. It also supports individual parents as well as various groups of parents who meet the criteria of Article 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms in their efforts to create a Francophone environment conducive to the educational, linguistic, cultural and community development of their children. The FPFTNL Healthy Families Virtual Resource Center “Familles en santé” contains links to reliable and up-to-date information on children’s health. The Fédération des francophones de Terre-Neuve et du Labrador is a not-for-profit organization that defends and promotes the rights and interests of the Francophone and Acadian communities in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Newfoundland and Labrador Francophone Health Network – RSFTNL
The Réseau santé en français de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador (Newfoundland and Labrador Francophone Health Network) is administered by the Fédération des francophones de Terre-Neuve et du Labrador (FFTNL). It is a member of a national network, the Société Santé en français. The Newfoundland and Labrador Francophone Health Network brings together key players working toward the goal of obtaining health care in French for the province’s francophone and Acadian community.
Bridge the gapp
Bridge the gapp is a way to connect with guidance and support for mental health and addictions, and helpful to those who are finding it difficult to cope or who feel anxious. The site includes links to Canadian Mental Health resources in French. Bridge the gapp Adult is an online resource designed to support mental wellness.
