The health-care system can sometimes seem complex.

Patient navigators help you find your way through the system and guide you as you move along on your journey through health care.

Cancer patient navigator

Cancer patient navigators support you and your family, and help you access services. They are available throughout the province.

Palliative care nurse navigator

The palliative care nurse navigator is a nurse who has vast knowledge of palliative care services, and who is of great assistance to any patient or family member inquiring about available services. Indigenous patient navigator

Eastern Health’s Indigenous patient navigators assist Indigenous patients throughout the province navigate the health-care system. For more information, or to contact an Aboriginal patient navigator, please call 709-777-2199 or 709-777-2110.

Mental Health and Addictions systems navigator

The Mental Health and Addictions Systems Navigator is a central point of contact for you, your family members and other stakeholders throughout the province to:

  • Problem solve so that you can figure out next steps;
  • Consider options with you to help find the right mental health or addiction service; and/or
  • Help you to make connections.

Francophone Health System Navigator

The Francophone Health System Navigator (FHSN) is a pilot project that seeks to provide an additional level of support to French-speaking patients and families to improve their navigation and access through the health-care system.
