Recognizing and celebrating service and retirement

We are proud of our people!

Eastern Health recognizes and values the commitment of its employees. Without the time and dedication of all our employees, we would not be able to deliver quality care and service to our clients, patients, and residents throughout the region. The fact that we recognize thousands of years of service each year speaks to the commitment our employees have to Eastern Health and to the people they serve.

Recognition of service is a great opportunity to acknowledge our employees and their significant contribution to the achievement of Eastern Health vision of Healthy People, Healthy Communities.

Recognizing our service recipients

Eastern Health acknowledges employee service milestones in five-year increments.

Departments receive a list of milestone recipients along with appropriate pins on a quarterly basis. Once received, managers are invited to present staff with their pin through a small recognition event.

Additionally, our long service employees reaching a milestone of 25 years and over, are contacted through email to congratulate them on their service milestone and invited to choose a service award.

All awards will be available for pick up every third Tuesday and Wednesday of January, April, July and October in one of our locations in St. John’s, Carbonear, Bonavista, Clarenville and Burin.

Recognizing our retirees

Our employees who have made the decision to retire will be contacted through email to congratulate them on their retirement and to invite them to choose their retirement gift. As our employees celebrate their retirement with their teams, they will be presented with their gift on their last day of work.

Yearly recognition of all service recipients and retirees

During Recognition Week, we will set aside a time to recognize all those who have achieved a service milestone and/or have retired in the previous year.
