Public Health Measures

We have implemented a series of public health measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Your role in infection prevention

  • COVID-19/respiratory illness screening for visitors/support persons: https://www.easternhealth.ca/covid19/screening-and-covid-19-testing/
  • Masking Requirements: Visitors/support persons, clients and patients (outpatient clinics and emergency departments) are required to wear a well-fitted medical mask in all clinical areas, including in waiting areas for health-care services/appointments, clinical care/treatment areas and while visiting patients and long-term care residents. These requirements do not apply to patients admitted to hospital or long-term care residents. Individuals who are seeking or receiving health-care services who are symptomatic (i.e. experiencing any one or more symptoms of COVID-19 or respiratory symptoms) are required to wear a mask upon entry and at all times while inside the health-care facility. Visitors/support persons who are feeling unwell or sick should not visit patients/residents or accompany others to appointments. For more information, please visit: https://www.easternhealth.ca/covid19/masks/
  • Perform hand hygiene: All individuals entering Eastern Health facilities are required to complete hand hygiene. Clean your hands with hand sanitizer or wash your hands with soap and water.
  • Physical distancing is recommended: Whenever possible, please maintain physical distancing from others while in all Eastern Health facilities.

Other things you can do to prevent the spread of COVID-19:
