The Agnes Pratt Home is an affiliated ministry of the United Church of Canada.
The Home was officially opened in 1958 with 36 beds. In 1972, the first extension was added to bringing the bed total to 68 , this included a 16-bed nursing unit. A second extension in 1988 increased the number of resident beds to 136 (2-beds closed on the Protective Care Unit). This last extension provided areas for additional programming and services for residents requiring a higher level of care such as dementia care.
The Home provides a safe, secure, home like environment respecting the dignity, privacy and autonomy of each person while ensuring the involvement of family members in the care process. Care and service is provided within a philosophy of resident-centred care.
