Protection services
Eastern Health has a Regional Protection Services team that supports our mandate of ensuring the safe delivery of health services. We also work with external partners. The security of our employees, clients, visitors and assets is a high priority for us.
Security division
Our team and contracted security staff are members of the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS). Our services are continually evolving and improving. Among other things, we perform:
- security program management;
- corporate investigations;
- security incident reporting and threat risk assessments;
- consultations on security issues; and
- loss prevention assessments and initiatives.
Health emergency management division
Our Health Emergency Management (HEM) team leads our emergency preparedness and response to any hazards related to natural and human causes. Our staff are trained in emergency management, fire life safety, business continuity planning, incident command structure (ICS) and emergency operations centre management.
