Project summary

The current project will involve the renovation of the existing emergency department, existing clinical spaces, an extension to the existing building which includes a Psychiatric Assessment Unit (PAU), an enclosed ambulance bay and associated services for police and private ambulance services. The new emergency department will be approximately 53,000 square feet in total and will take approximately four years to construct in four phases.

The existing emergency department at the Health Sciences Centre is the province’s only trauma centre.
