Extended Stay St. John’s

In order to prepare the site for the new adult mental health and addictions facility, the Agnes Cowan Hostel was demolished in October of 2019. Eastern Health will continue to operate low-rate accommodations in St. John’s for clients and/or their families as was previously provided at the Agnes Cowan Hostel and Janeway Hostel. Clients will now stay at the Extended Stay St. John’s on 222 Lemarchant Road.

Amenities

All rooms at Extended Stay St. John’s will have queen, double and/or twin beds, some sofa beds, kitchenettes, private washrooms, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and access to on-site laundry services, housekeeping services, communal rooms and parking. In addition, accessible rooms are also available.

Shuttle service

An on-demand shuttle service will be provided to the Health Sciences Centre between 6:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

Parking

Those staying at the new accommodation will be provided with free parking upon check-in. Should you be staying at the new accommodation with a vehicle and need to go to Health Sciences Centre for treatment/services, clients can avail of shuttle services free of charge. If clients use their own vehicle, clients will need to park in paid public parking lots.
