Individuals wishing to avail of home supports and other benefits, with the exception of Autism Services, are subject to a financial assessment.
The financial assessment is completed by a Financial Assessment Officer (FAO) and is based on the level of liquid assets and the Enriched Needs Test (an individual’s income compared to allowable monthly expenses), or the Income Test
. The Income Test is used for those clients that are only requiring Home Support Services
and services from the Special Assistance Program
Individuals assessed as having the ability to contribute financially toward their home supports must pay their contribution to the care provider or agency before Eastern Health will contribute toward the costs of services.
NOTE: Individuals must avail of all other funding sources (e.g. private health insurance) prior to requesting and receiving funding from Eastern Health.
