Parents are the first and most important sexual health educator of their children. Parents want to give their children knowledge and guidance to help them become responsible and secure adults. When it comes to the topic of puberty, parents may feel embarrassed or uncomfortable.
The following resources have been developed to help parents talk openly with their children about the important topic of puberty. These parent resources are also available on the Newfoundland and Labrador Eastern School District (NLESD) website. In addition, resources have been developed for teachers to align with the health curriculum.
