Bleeding Disorders Program

The Bleeding Disorders Program. located at the Health Sciences Centre and the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre, is the tertiary care program for all bleeding disorders in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. 
 
Bleeding disorders include:
  • Deficiencies of factors  I, II, V, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI , XII and XIII;
  • Von Willebrand Disease;
  • Platelet deficiencies; and
  • Glanzmann Thrombasthenia.
These bleeding disorders range from mild to severe and are very rare in some cases.

Pediatric clinics are held every three months; patients with an urgent concern are seen as needed.
