Asthma Program

Asthma ProgramThe Asthma Program at the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre provides a multidisciplinary team approach to asthma management for children and their families who are living with this chronic disease.

The program’s primary goal is to help control the disease and prevent future risk. The Pediatric Pulmonary Function Lab is an important part of this program and is used to confirm a clinical diagnosis and to assess asthma control.

The Asthma Program offers services through an outpatient clinic setting. To access the program, you must receive a referral from your family physician.

Our Team

The Asthma Program team consists of:
  • pediatricians;
  • a respiratory therapist; and
  • a nurse coordinator.
Social workers are also available within the program, if needed.

The team follows Canadian Respiratory Guidelines for the diagnosis and management of asthma in order to help optimize the care delivered.
