Communicable Disease Control and Follow-Up

The Communicable Disease Control (CDC) program provides health education and consultation to staff, community agencies, and health professionals in the control, treatment, and management of communicable diseases.

CDC keeps statistics and records on reportable diseases according to the requirements of the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Health and Community Services. CDC also orders and distributes all provincial publicly funded vaccines for vaccine preventable diseases.

A variety of health education initiatives and clinical services are used in the prevention and control of communicable diseases.  CDC staff provide information, education, consultation and clinical services related to:
