Screening & COVID-19 Testing at EH Sites

We continue to screen members of the public at entry points to our facilities for signs of illness. To keep people safe from COVID-19, you will be asked a series of screening questions as you enter an Eastern Health facility.
COVID-19 Testing
In  addition, we continue to do COVID-19 testing for all hospital admissions, as well as scheduled appointments that require an aerosol generating medical procedure (AGMP) such as, but not limited to, an upper endoscopy or a bronchoscopy.
Individuals who have a planned admission to one of our hospitals, or who have an outpatient appointment for an aerosol generating medical procedure will be contacted up to 72 hours in advance to have a COVID-19 swab test completed prior to admission/procedure. Patients will be required to isolate from the time the swab is taken until the time for their procedure or surgery.
For an unplanned hospital admission, such as an emergency situation or an admission to the case room, patients will be tested once it has been determined that they will be admitted to the hospital.
