Food Delivery Service Model for St. John’s Hospitals 
Eating healthy, nutritious meals is an important part of a patient’s recovery back to good health. At Eastern Health, we are committed to providing our patients with quality, balanced and nutritious meals using Steamplicity®
Steamplicity® will launch at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on March 7th, 2018, followed by the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre on March 21st; the Waterford Hospital on April 4th; and the Health Sciences Centre and Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre on April 11th, 2018.
Owned by Morrison Healthcare – a member of Compass Group Canada, Steamplicity® is an innovative food delivery service model that has been tried and tested in hospitals across Canada since 2009.

Convenience at bedside
With Steamplicity®, patients receive a restaurant-style menu with a choice of entrée, appetizer, dessert and beverage for each meal. 
Prior to mealtime, a food service associate visits each patient to take their order. Meal trays are then assembled based on individual requests in a health-care facility’s designated pantry area. 
High quality meals
Steamplicity® offers patients high-quality, nutritious, and tasty menu options, some of which include the following:
Classic Pot Roast
Slow roasted beef round with rich gravy, fluffy mashed potatoes, baby peas and carrot-turnip blend
Oriental Beef Strips
Tender ginger beef strips served with a wild rice medley, orange and yellow carrots and green beans
Chicken Alfredo
Penne pasta tossed in a chicken alfredo sauce, accompanied by green beans, yellow and orange carrots
Roast Pork
Sliced roast pork covered in an apple and pear compote, with fluffy mashed potatoes, and a carrot-turnip blend
Classic Macaroni and Cheese
Pasta in a creamy cheddar cheese sauce with broccoli florets and carrots
Chicken Breast
Grilled boneless chicken breast with vine ripened tomato sauce, wild rice medley, broccoli florets and sweet corn
BBQ Meatballs
Meatballs served in a creamy Barbeque Sauce accompanied with steamed rice, broccoli florets and carrots    
Cod loin served with steamed rice, green beans and orange and yellow carrots

Steamplicity® uses an innovative valve control system to cook fresh food under steam pressure to perfection in minutes, locking in all the flavour and nutrients. Both the packaging and valve control release of steam during cooking are the key components in consistently delivering high quality meals.
