When are scholarships usually available?
 
Scholarships are offered annually. The application cycle normally begins mid-summer and remains open until October. Scholarship recipients are announced during the month of December. 
 
Application forms and deadline information is posted to this website each year as soon as the scholarship application cycle begins.   
 
 
How are scholarship recipients selected?  
 
Eastern Health scholarships are awarded to eligible applicants on a competitive basis. The Scholarship Review Team reviews all applications and selects the scholarship winners based established criteria, such as academic performance, letters of reference, personal letter to the Scholarship Review Team and resume. The decisions of the review team are final, and their discussions confidential.
 
Can an individual receive more than one Eastern Health scholarship? 
 
The same individual cannot be a repeat recipient of a Quality Healthcare Scholarship.  Quality Healthcare Scholarships are awarded once in a lifetime.
 
Previous recipients of a staff or dependant of staff scholarships may be eligible to receive another Eastern Health scholarship, however preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received a scholarship from Eastern Health. 
 
Individuals may re-apply if unsuccessful in securing a scholarship.
 
Employees accessing other tuition support from Eastern Health will not be eligible for a staff scholarship in the same year.
 
I am an Eastern Health employee; can I apply for a Quality Healthcare Scholarship?
 
Yes, Eastern Health employees are encouraged to apply for Quality Healthcare Scholarships if they meet eligibility criteria.
 
What happens if I miss the application deadline?
 
Late or incomplete scholarship applications will not be accepted.  
 
What happens if I submit an incomplete scholarship application?
 
Please be sure to include all necessary documentation at the time of your scholarship application submission. Documents sent separately will not be accepted. Incomplete application packages will be disqualified.
