Long-Term Care

Long-Term Care Program: About Us

When living at home becomes difficult or is no longer the right option, long-term care may be for you.

Eastern Health's long-term care program provides a range of residential and day services, which
are mainly provided to seniors and older adults with disabilities. We support individuals’ choices, wellness and independence.
Our goal is to deliver quality, holistic, and person-centred care to meet the needs of our clients and their families. The long-term care program is comprised of an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nursing staff, allied health staff and managers who work collaboratively to achieve this goal.
In keeping with the Statement of Rights and Responsibilities for Clients, Patients, and Residents, we aim to deliver care with dignity, respect and courtesy. We are also committed to providing safe resident care.

Virtual Visitation during COVID-19

Our Long-Term Care Program is using technology to ensure that our residents can stay connected with their families during COVID-19. To book a virtual visit with your loved one, please contact your long-term care facility. Contact information is available here.

Volunteers provide a vital role, especially in our nursing homes. Volunteering is a rewarding experience and we invite you to share your interests, skills and passion with our residents. A variety of volunteer opportunities are available in our nursing homes on weekdays, weekends, and evenings. For more information, please visit Volunteer Resources.

Nursing Homes
Nursing Homes are publicly funded facilities that offer care to people who need moderate to total assistance with daily functioning and daily on-site nursing care (three hours or more daily).
We invite you to watch the video below, "Your New Home," which highlights each of the nursing homes and protective community residences operated by Eastern Health. To learn more, please visit our Nursing Homes page.
