Paramedicine and Medical Transport (PMT) is a division within the Emergency and Paramedicine Program of Eastern Health responsible for providing quality service in the specialty of transport medicine. The PMT division can be divided into five separate programs or services:

• - The Provincial Medical Oversight Program 
• - The Medical Communication Centre
• - Paramedic Services (Metro and Carbonear)
• - Regional Services
• - The Provincial Air Ambulance Program (Med Flight Newfoundland and Labrador) 

• Overseeing contracted private and community based ambulance operators that provide regional road ambulance services
• Providing road ambulance services to St. John’s Metropolitan Area and Carbonear General
• Provincial policy development and enforcement 
• Providing provincial air ambulance services
• Responsible for the registration and certification of all ambulance staff in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador through the Provincial Medical Oversight Program
