Safety
Fire drills are practiced regularly. If the fire alarm rings, please stay where you are and don’t panic. Hospital staff have certain procedures they follow in the event of a fire. Nursing staff will close all windows and doors as part of their routine procedure when the alarm sounds. When the drill is over, your door will be opened.
Each patient bed has a call bell cord. All patient washrooms have a call button on the wall near the toilet. These are for use by patients or visitors when assistance is required. Side rails may be used during your stay. If side rails are used, call the nurse for help to get up.
Meals
Choices is a new idea for mealtime. With Choices, the host or hostess will take your order at mealtime, and you will receive your selections immediately. There is no need to order in advance and no unnecessary waiting.
We have created recipes to taste great and be good for you- high in nutrition and low in fat. Of course, if you are on a special diet ordered by your doctor, we will follow the guidelines for your particular diet. If you need any further assistance, just ask your host or hostess.
Choices means caring that starts in the kitchen... and ends with your complete satisfaction.
A Dietitian may visit you and your family to provide information on how your eating habits can improve your medical problem. Education may be given on appropriate food choices and coping methods. A Dietitian will assess a persons nutrition requirement and make suggestions if a person is not eating well or cannot eat.
