Accomodation

• Family members who are traveling with patients must find accommodation outside of the hospital. There are a number of hotels and bed and breakfast near our facilities. The Admitting Department may have a list of some accommodations. 
• We also operate the Agnes Cowan Hostel and the Janeway Hostel for patients and families. 
• The Agnes Cowan Hostel has 88 rooms. Six rooms have been structured to accommodate small families and ten rooms have been designed for wheelchair-dependent people. Rates are $43 for a double room, $63 for a family unit and $36 for a single room.
• The Janeway Hostel is a new facility attached to the Agnes Cowan Hostel. It is wheelchair accessible and can accommodate families. Cost is $50/night. 
• The hostel is reserved for patients requiring medical services at one of the St. John’s hospitals and for a family member or support person. 
• For reservations call 777-6831.
• Please call at least a week in advance to reserve a room, indicating the type of accommodation you will require. 
• You are requested to vacate your room by11 a.m. on the day of your departure. This is necessary to clean the room and make it ready for the next guests. 

• The Health Sciences Centre has coin-operated metered parking and permit parking areas.
• Temporary permits for long-term parking are available – contact Security for details.
• Our parking lots are patrolled regularly by security, but please do not leave anything of value in your vehicle.

• A direct phone line to a local taxi cab company is located in all major entranceways.
