Sunshine Manor opened in November 1996. It is a long term care facility that is home to 14 residents located in the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital. 

Philosophy
Staff at Sunshine Manor know that each person is different with a variety of needs and wants. In keeping with this belief, we are committed to ensuring that everyone has personal rights and privileges that include:

• To be treated with courtesy and respect in a way that fully recognizes his/her dignity and individuality.
• To be free from mental, physical, emotional, verbal and sexual abuse.

• To be given access to appropriate areas outside the facility in order to enjoy outdoor activities.

• To receive rehabilitation and assistance towards independence consistent with identified requirements. 
• To be informed of who is responsible for and who is providing, his/her direct care.
• To be afforded privacy in treatment and in caring for personal needs.
• To be informed of his/her medical condition and to exercise informed consent regarding treatment and proposed courses of treatment.
• To have access to his/her medical and personal record and have them kept confidential in accordance with the law. 
• To vote in all municipal, provincial and federal elections and to have arrangements made to accommodate this right.
