Blue Crest Nursing Home is a long term care facility that serves the residents of Grand Bank. The facility has 61 long term care beds.

Staff at Blue Crest Nursing Home is aware that each resident is an individual with different wants and needs. In keeping with this belief we are committed to ensuring that each resident has the right to: 

• Be treated with courtesy and respect in a way that fully recognizes the resident’s dignity and individuality
• Be free from mental, physical, emotional, verbal and sexual abuse 
• Live in a safe, clean, and healthy environment 
• Be given access to appropriate areas outside the facility in order to enjoy outdoor activities 
• Form friendships and to enjoy relationships  
• Pursue social, cultural, religious, leisure, and other interests to promote personal growth and physical well-being. 
• Receive rehabilitation and assistance towards independence. 
• Be informed who is responsible for, and who is providing, his or her direct care.
• Be afforded privacy in treatment and in caring for personal needs. 
• Be informed of his or her medical condition and to exercise informed consent regarding treatment and proposed courses of treatment. 
• Have access to his or her medical and personal records and have them kept confidential in accordance with the law. 
• Vote in all municipal, provincial and federal elections and have arrangements made to accommodate this right.

Admission
Admission to Blue Crest is based on need. The Health and Community Services social work consultant in discussion with Blue Crest Home determines who will be selected for admission.
