Eastern Health’s Nuclear and Molecular Medicine facility houses Newfoundland and Labrador’s first
positron emission tomography /computerized tomography (PET/CT) scanner
.
The Nuclear and Molecular Medicine facility is state-of-the-art. It:
conveniently combines existing nuclear medicine services at one site;
contains innovative safety features;
adequate treatment space to run the Nuclear and Molecular Medicine Program;
the infrastructure necessary for future expansion of the
Provincial Cancer Care Program of Newfoundland and Labrador
,
and
opens a wealth of future research opportunities for Eastern Health and Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Services:
Newfoundland and Labrador’s first Positron Emission Tomography (PET) service for the performance of PET scans, which are essential in the management and treatment of many diseases.
Newfoundland and Labrador’s first Cyclotron service, which will allow for the onsite production of radioactive “tracers” for use with PET scans.
Nuclear and molecule medicine imaging services, including cardiac perfusion imaging services.
Nuclear and molecular medicine therapy services.
