2016-17
On September 27, 2017, Eastern Health held its Annual General Meeting showcasing its performance for the fiscal year, 2016-17. While some challenges remain, Eastern Health is very pleased with its many accomplishments and contributions made toward the organization’s vision of Healthy People, Healthy Communities.
The 2016-17 fiscal year marked the completion of the third and final year of Eastern Health’s Strategic Plan 2014-17, Together We Can. During the AGM, presentations were made by Leslie O’Reilly, Chair of the Board of Trustees, and David Diamond, President and CEO.
Quality and Safety, Access, Sustainability and Population Health were the four strategic priority areas against which Eastern Health measured its performance. The following are highpoints of Eastern Health’s report on performance for the fiscal year 2016-17:
Quality and Safety: Eastern Health has:
Access: Eastern Health has met the emergency department (ER) Wait Time to Physician Initial Assessment benchmark, which is for 90 per cent of emergency department patients to have a physician or nurse practitioner initial assessment within three hours of arrival. In 2015-16, 87.4 per cent met this benchmark, which increased to 91.1 percent in 2016-17.
